What is jewelry bonding?
Jewelry bonding is a custom fitted dainty chain, welded together designed for a clasp-less, seamless look without removal. The chain and/or charms are picked with intention, symbolizing a significant moment or celebration.
Whatif I need to take it off?
If you need to remove the chain for any reason, simply cut the bonded ring with a small pair of scissors- keep the chain to re-bond or add a clasp for easy removal.
What if it breaks or wears off? Is there a Warranty?
While the chain is bonded, it is not indestructible. For safety reasons, chains may break due to an active lifestyle. In the event of an incident, we offer a 10 day warranty for the weld: simply bring in your chain, and we will re-bond it for you at no cost.
Please note that we cannot replace lost or broken chains. For children under 12, we can use a non-welded jump ring for a special bond experience or add a clasp. Children aged 12-17 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Due to the customized cut of the chain, all sales are final.
Will it tarnish?
Exposure to daily substances like lotions, sunscreens, daily cleaners, or individual skin sensitivities may cause tarnishing. Other factors
such as:
- Moisture or humidity can lead to jewelry tarnishing.
- Pools & Hot Tubs: Chemicals used for cleaning these can tarnish gold-filled jewelry.
- Body Chemistry: Individual hormone levels and skin acidity can affect how jewelry reacts,
- causing immediate tarnishing for some.
- Sweat: Contains chemicals and salts that are harsh on jewelry.
- In such cases, clean the chain with a mild soap and water mixture, and use a jewelry cloth to polish it.
Why is there a “black ring” where I wear my jewelry?
Metallic Abrasion:
- Caused by makeup and cosmetics containing compounds harder than the jewelry, leading to abrasion. Results in tiny, finely divided metal particles that appear black, creating a smudge on skin or clothing.
- Prevention: Remove jewelry before applying cosmetics; clean skin areas in contact with jewelry.
Corrosion of Metals:
- Gold corrode, but its alloys like silver and copper can, leading to dark compounds on the skin.
